MOOLOOLABA OCEAN PADDLERS THAT HAVE NOT REGISTERED - If you love paddling and are looking for races our iconic Mooloolaba Paddlers Beach to Beach 16km ocean paddle is back on 12th June.cost is $55 per paddler or $100 per double.
If you are not paddling and would like to help, we need around 10 people on the day at the finish for various jobs. Just email me if you can help us out.
ABOUT THE RACE
The Mooloolaba Paddlers Beach to Beach Ocean Paddle will be conducted on the Saturday 12th July 2021 starting the race at either Moffat Beach or Mudjimba beach (depending on wind conditions) and finishing at Mooloolaba beach.
We have split the Ocean Paddle into 3 waves. Each wave registering and leaving from the start point at 30 minute intervals.
Only competitors may enter the registration area.
Each wave must remove and clear the finish area with in 1 hour of finishing the paddle.
Waves for the Ocean paddle on Saturday 12th June will be as follows:
WAVE 1:
Registration Time: 6am
Start Time: 8AM
Category; Ocean skis, Surf skis, and Double skis
WAVE 2:
Registration Time: 7am
Start Time; 8.30AM
Category; Prone and SUPs
WAVE 3:
Registration Time: 8am
Start Time: 9AM
Category; Outriggers OC 1, OC 2, OC3, and OC 6s
Online Registration
Online registration will be completed on webscorer thru www.oceanpaddle.com.au
When completing the online form, you will be asked to view Paddle Australia’s online waiver by ticking the box you will agree to the terms and conditions, there will be no other forms to fill out at registration. Reducing the amount of contact with administration staff at registration desk.
Race Brief and Course Selection
ON Friday 11th June at 5pm the race brief and course will be conducted on Facebook live and we will also sent out an email.
Registration Process /Starting the race
Only competitors can access the registration area. Each competitor will be given an envelope containing a lanyard with a chip, and a wristband with your number on it. Please wear the lanyard around your neck and place your wristband on left wrist.
The wristband if to manually register you across the finish line.
All competitors in each wave must be on the water for race start. The wave will not be held up.
Start will be a water start between two buoys which will be clearly marked.
Starting Waves
Start waves will be from the beach or ocean depending on the conditions:
The first wave to start will be ocean skis, followed by the second wave stock and unlimited prone paddlers, and SUPs. and then the third wave outrigger boats (OC1, OC2, OC3, and OC6’s.
Exact start time may vary for the first wave as we will try to wait for the best wind conditions.
